LelexTea 300 Spartans

Very herbaceous and peppery on the nose, and that carries through in this tea’s flavour. Delicate citrus notes in the background complement the flavour. Smooth to drink, with no bitterness. If a herby tea is what you’re looking for, this one delivers.

Multi-layered flavours with a nice after taste and a slight bite at the end.

LelexTea Summer Tea refreshing blend

Citrus and mint come through on the nose, with other aromas behind, but they are indiscernible from each other. The colour in the cup is a bright pale lemon. The flavours are nicely balanced, producing a subtle and interesting cup. easy drinking.

There is a delightful aroma from the fresh smelling dry ingredients, both floral and herbal with a hint of lemon. The palest of yellow liquor has a gentle hint of lemon in the flavour alongside a touch of mint and the earthy and floral notes from mountain tea. This is a delightful infusion, clean and bright with floral and herbal tones and is worthy of an award.

A bright, golden infusion, highly aromatic and predominantly herbal. There’s a touch of citrus alongside the powerful mint, but very little by way of florally. It’s clean, bright, with marked heat from the mint, and a touch of earthiness. The individual flavours are not readily discernible, but they do form a pleasing blend. For a higher award we’d have liked a touch more florality to alleviate the mentholly herbaceousness. But we can’t fault its vibrancy.

Aphrodite style blends

This herb mixture brews to a slightly cloudy golden coloured liquor with a full herb aroma. There is sweetness on the nose and in the mouth, but the dominant flavour is undefinable because of the complexity of the blend. Even with the lack of definition this is a successful blend and is pleasing to taste.

A lovely light orange liquor in the cup. A nice blend of herbs and well balanced on the nose. Hints of thyme and rosemary on the palate. This is well balanced but leaves a dryness on the palate.

A very gentle infusion, pleasant in colour, aroma and flavour. The golden liquor is a tad cloudy, but would be fine infused through a paper filter. The aroma is gently herbal, not readily definable, but inviting. The blend is complex, with no one herb dominant, and equally none clearly definable – we do glean hints of rosemary, chamomile, something minty… But it’s a well-balanced blend, pleasingly rounded, gentle and sippable.

Panagiotis Grafakos is the man who envisioned and founded LELEGES LelexTea. He is a “child” of Taygetos, raised on the same mountain that hosts the special Cistus. Master of herbs, Panagiotis Grafakos continues the ancient tradition of herbalism by producing 100% natural herbs, teas and herbal blends.

Cistus Creticus Incanus

All our blends contain Cistus, “our child”, which is cultivated on the slopes of Taygetos, in Mani, but also in Crete. Cistus is a herb with miraculous properties, known since the time of Hippocrates.

It offers health and well-being, strengthening the body’s immune system, against bacterial and viral infections.

You can try Cistus either alone or in our herbal blends.

The benefits of tea

The tea contains anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and stimulates the immune system. In addition, it helps the metabolism and is ideal for digestion.

LelexTea Organic Greek Spearmint tea

Clear bright appearance. The spearmint character is rather light; it could benefit from being more intense and stronger in character.

A vibrant and sweet mint, refreshing on the palate and giving a lasting finish. A good quality mint.

Bright and golden in the cup. The spearmint character is brightly evident on the nose and the palate and finishes with the slightly astringent character of spearmint gum. There is good length to the finish – fans of spearmint will not be disappointed.

LelexTea Organic Greek Mint Peppermint tea

Wonderful intensity and freshness. The leaf is even in size and neat – an indication of the care and attention that has taken place throughout processing. Naturally sweet, with hints of caramel – very refreshing and uplifting to taste.

A really tasty peppermint. It has bags of body, great length, and is clean and fresh with strong menthol character.

Deep gold in the cup, with a dramatically powerful, vibrant aroma. The palate matches the power of the aroma – it’s intense, fresh, bright, peppery and menthol-cool in equal measure. Pleasing body and length complete the picture. An excellent quality peppermint.

LelexTea Organic Greek Lemon Verbena Aloysia citrodora tea

Clear, bright and wonderfully smooth. The character is a touch light, but pleasant nevertheless. The leaf is a little damaged and rather mixed in quality.

This fragrant herb gives off fabulous citrus notes. On the palate is has vibrancy and a long finish. A good quality infusion.

Bright gold in the cup, with a most enticing citrus aroma, the flavour is vibrant, the mouthfeel sweet and smooth. There’s a slight, unexpected spiciness alongside grassy, herbal notes, but the citrus character persists pleasingly.
